Setup
What you need
AI images use the image provider you set up in the free Kriti AI plugin, for example OpenAI, Gemini, Stability AI or a local server. See Connecting AI providers. Without one, sections use placeholder images that you can replace from the Media Library.
Generate
Review the prompts, then generate
- In Design a section, tick Generate images with AI. The checkbox shows which provider will be used.
- After you choose a pattern, Designer prepares a prompt and alt text for each image. Edit them, or untick an image to keep its placeholder.
- Click Generate images and insert. Images are created one at a time, and you can watch the progress.
Image shapes follow the design: wide images for banners, square for icons and cards.
Drafts
Images are drafts until you publish
- Generated images are saved as Kriti AI drafts. They are not in your Media Library yet.
- When you publish the post (or update a published post), images still used in it are added to the Media Library, attached to the post with their alt text. Images you removed are deleted.
- Draft images whose post is never published are cleaned up after 7 days.
