The queue
How generation runs
Every generation is a job in a background queue. WordPress's built-in scheduler, WP-Cron, picks up a few jobs at a time and runs them, so you can keep working while they finish.

Job statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for the next WP-Cron run. You can cancel it. |
| Processing | Running now. For video, the provider is still rendering; Kriti AI checks back automatically. |
| Completed | Finished. The Result column links to the draft. |
| Failed | The provider returned an error, shown in the Result / Error column. Kriti AI makes up to 3 attempts before marking a job as failed. |
| Cancelled | You cancelled it before it started. |
Note: Only pending jobs can be cancelled. A job that is already running continues until it finishes or fails.
Troubleshooting
A job stays pending
WP-Cron only runs when someone visits your site. On a quiet site, or when DISABLE_WP_CRON is set to true in wp-config.php, jobs can wait a long time.
Add a real cron job on your server that calls WP-Cron every few minutes:
*/5 * * * * curl -s https://example.com/wp-cron.php > /dev/null
Most hosts let you add this in their control panel under "Cron jobs".
A video job stays processing
Video providers take minutes to render. Kriti AI checks every Video poll interval seconds (see Settings), but only when WP-Cron runs, so make sure WP-Cron runs regularly as described above. Also check the provider's dashboard for quota or billing problems.
Common error messages
| Error | What to do |
|---|---|
| … reached the maximum token limit | Raise Max Tokens in AI Studio or Settings, or ask for shorter output. |
| cURL error 28: Operation timed out | The provider took too long. Raise Text timeout or Media timeout in Settings. With Ollama, try a smaller model. |
| 401 / invalid API key | Check the key in the Integrations Hub and click Test connection. |
| 429 / rate limit or quota | You've hit the provider's limit or run out of credit. Wait, or check billing with the provider. |
| Provider is not enabled | Add its key or server URL in the Integrations Hub, or choose another provider. |
